My name is Aislinn Dunne, and I am a marine scientist currently attending graduate school at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia. Ever since I was a little girl growing up on the southern coast of California, I have been drawn to the sea and motivated to understand and protect it. My childhood love of going to the beach combined with some inspirational scientists in my life shaped my desire to pursue a career in ecology so that my scientific research might help society make better decisions about managing and interacting with the sea.

My time as a young scientist has already taken me to conduct research in the South Pacific, the California Channel Islands, and the Red Sea. I have had the opportunity to travel and learn about the ecology and cultures of communities around the world, and I realize what a privilege it is to be able to see how these forces interact.

On this website, I hope to share the science and natural beauty that make up my time as a marine scientist and conservationist. Since I am stationed in the middle east for my studies, I am also in a wonderful position to explore the Red Sea and the surrounding region. I hope that you enjoy the pictures and stories from my research and recreation, I would love to learn about the science, conservation, and travel that you are doing as well.
